Voices of Failure and Cups of Celebration

Voices in the background telling you about how much you fail

Voices in the background silencing the little truth you thought you had

Voices in the background  not wanting any good for you

Voices in the background…  Voices meant to be silenced by you.

Hard to picture any success when your attention is focused on the failure. You start questioning your choices every time failure steps in. The pressure you put on yourself is way beyond what is needed. And then there is everybody that starts bringing theories like,

“YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO” … “FAILURE IS JUST A STATE OF MIND“… ” “WORK HARD AND IT WILL PAY OFF” ..  “WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU A HUNDRED REASONS TO CRY, SHOW LIFE YOU HAVE A THOUSAND REASONS TO SMILE“…

Very easy to say but applying it in real life is a whole other struggle ( insert sigh).

It is hard for sure, but what’s harder is living around people who pretend everything is alright and do not offer a practical solution to your issue. Well, guess what, this post is not written by a Dr, or pshychologist or anyone who has mastered the art of not failing. But as I walk in my early twenties shoes, I’ll tell you that it gets better and that you should take it 1 day at a time. Cliché? OK let’s break it down. Start with these 3 points:

  1. Make a list of what scares you/ Moments you feel like you are failling : getting it out of your mind to the paper/phone shrinks the size of your problems and helps you tackle them 1 at a time,
  2. Besides each point write what you can do about it. If you can’t do anything, put a later date when you will asses it again.
  3. Try to give yourself mini / attainable / realistic goals, and reward yourself when you achieve them.  But most importantly,

Learn to say NO. No to comparison, to emotional hurt, to bullies, to those voices that bring nothing but negativity in your world. Also, say no to extra loads of work, even when in the past you could do any and everything all at once. Clean your plate before adding on it ( did I write this?!! It just hit me too, daang )

I’ll leave you on this Komal Kapoor Quote: ” Why do we grieve failures longer than we celebrate wins?”

Heading down to the kitchen to celebrate, with a cup of tea, growth, wisdom and experience that shape us.

Hugs and Kisses your way,

– Mlle Gapfasoni

It does get better indeed! You will look back and be so proud of yourself for silencing all of the voices to learn to hear your own.
